After three easy deliveries and 6 pound babies, Travis had to come along and make things a little interesting for his momma. Arriving at 9 pounds 2 oz and with a littlepost delivery NICU visit, Travis is doing well and settling in nicely at home. I have a feeling his two big sisters are going to have quite a lot of fun with their new baby brother but with any luck his big brother Jake will keep them from dressing him up too much. So happy for this sweet family and their newest addition!

There seems to be a little boy boom going on around here as it has been a while since I’ve worked with a baby girl. The latest boy is the adorable Anthony. At six days old during his session, he was a rock start, sleeping soundly through most of the session, yet giving me some calm awake moments with big curious eyes. Anthony’s equally cute big brother Joey was also happy to be part of the portraits and love on his new baby brother, and ham it up for the family portraits. Welcome to the world Anthony!

The days are getting shorter for sure, but there was still enough late afternoon light left on a recent overcast day to squeeze this wonderful session with the soon-to-be 4 Levi. He was a natural in front of the camera, if not a touch shy at first, but was quick to open up. He is quite excited for both his birthday and Christmas in the coming weeks. It is always such a pleasure meeting new kids and their parents. Levi rocked the rockstar hair and we snuck in some great holiday portraits as well, so the Christmas cards should be on point this year!

Hayden – Class of 2017

Thursday, November 10th, 2016

I imagine I’ve mentioned how much I love shooting in the fall on past blog posts, but I’m going to throw it out there again. It is such a great time of year for portraits. Usually it is cooler, but this year has been a bit of an exception. And of course the colors can bring so much to the images. We started Hayden’s session off in some back alleys while the afternoon sun was still strong and to get some urban feel to her senior portraits. As the golden hour of the day approached we moved to one of my favorite fields to take advantage of those fall colors, and a gorgeous read velvet chair I happened upon at the wedding I had shot the day before. Hayden was a natural in front of the camera, even with the parental units doing what they could to make her laugh. And of course we had to throw in a few family shots as well since Hayden will be leaving the nest in short order. Good luck Hayden!

Chris + Alyssa

Tuesday, November 8th, 2016

I have been looking forward to this wedding for quite a while now. I always love the natural beauty of a fall wedding, having had my own during the fall. But also, Chris and Alyssa have become good friends over the past year during our time together at CrossFit Mt Juliet, and they are truly some of the nicest people around. They both love horses, with Chris participating in rodeos as a roper and Alyssa teaching horseback riding lessons. I was thrilled to learn she was even going to be riding in on a horse for her wedding. The wedding was held at Circle S Farms in Lebanon, TN, with the ceremony tucked away in a clearing in the woods atop a moss covered rock. With the unusually dry fall we’ve had, the fall colors were not as vibrant as usual, but I managed to make the best of what I could find for their portraits. Following the ceremony, the reception was held on site and catered by Circle S catering. A live band provided great music all night and kept everyone on the dance floor. It was a memorable day, with Chris and Alyssa surrounded by family and friends celebrating their love for one another. Congratulations!!!
