Spencer + Audrey

Tuesday, November 21st, 2017

Happy 10 day Anniversary to Spencer and Audrey! In celebration of this grand day I’d like to present the first look at some of the images from their beautiful November wedding day. The Nashville weather can be quite unpredictable, and with some very chilly days leading up to the wedding day there was a little concern about temperatures. The wedding was being held at the amphitheater in the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park. But as the day broke, the temps were mild and the skies were beautiful and the last traces of fall colors held fast to provide beautiful pops of color. Spencer started the day with his groomsmen at Monty’s barber shop getting straight razor shaves while the girls stayed in making their bouquets and getting made-up. The ceremony was as beautiful as the bride and as darkness and temperatures fell, the dancing heated things up. The newlyweds and their friends put on a swing dancing showcase that was a blast to watch. Congratulations Spencer & Audrey, and thank you for letting me be part of your amazing day!

Aubrie – Class of 2018

Thursday, October 26th, 2017

Temperatures are finally falling, and the leaves are beginning to as well. And high school seniors are beginning to look ahead to the end of the school year and all that lies ahead for them. This includes Aubrie, Class of 2018. We had a fun session on a recent afternoon filled with lots of laughter and funny faces. As a dancer at her high school, Aubrie was at ease in front of the camera and made things easy for me. Her outfit selection was great and the colors worked well with the early fall colors that were showing off at Iriswoods Wedding and Events venue. Enjoy your senior year Aubrie, and best of luck to you in college!

Thomas & Daniel

Friday, November 25th, 2016

The chaotic, but beautiful fall continues on, and now with Thanksgiving past, it is time to head full steam into the Christmas season. But I’m not going without playing catch-up on some of the great fall sessions I’ve had these past few weeks. I’ve put off the blog posts in an effort to get the session proofs back to everyone andChristmas cards ordered, so I have quite a few posts to share. Thomas and Daniel and their parents will start things off. I had fun with these guys, especially with Daniel keeping all of us laughing through-out the session. We finally had a round of cold weather come through the area so everyone actually was able to wear fall attire without burning up. As with a number of other sessions recently, Mom and Dad are friends of mine from CrossFit Mt Juliet, as it was great spending time with them outside of the gym and getting to know their boys. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Coming soon…?

Baby number three is on the way for this family that I’ve had the pleasure of working with for the past seven years since their first, daughter Mackensie, was born. Mason came along almost 5 years ago, and now Mason and Mackensie (and the rest of the family) are waiting to find out the mystery of whether they will have a baby brother or sister. I was thrilled when momma got in touch to let me know they were expecting again and if they could drive over to Nashville from Knoxville for some family and maternity portraits. It is always a pleasure seeing the babies I photograph grow up, and I’m looking forward to continuing that when their newest bundle of joy arrives soon. Stay tuned to find out if baby is a boy or girl!

Hayden – Class of 2017

Thursday, November 10th, 2016

I imagine I’ve mentioned how much I love shooting in the fall on past blog posts, but I’m going to throw it out there again. It is such a great time of year for portraits. Usually it is cooler, but this year has been a bit of an exception. And of course the colors can bring so much to the images. We started Hayden’s session off in some back alleys while the afternoon sun was still strong and to get some urban feel to her senior portraits. As the golden hour of the day approached we moved to one of my favorite fields to take advantage of those fall colors, and a gorgeous read velvet chair I happened upon at the wedding I had shot the day before. Hayden was a natural in front of the camera, even with the parental units doing what they could to make her laugh. And of course we had to throw in a few family shots as well since Hayden will be leaving the nest in short order. Good luck Hayden!
