I’ve had to cancel a few sessions this summer due to those pesky late afternoon thunderstorms, but this particular session seemed to have the worst luck. It was postponed not once, not twice not even three time. After 4 postponements due to rain, we finally were able to get a beautiful afternoon. If East Tennessee is ever in a drought again, I’m going to try to schedule a session with this family and rain will be sure to follow. This was planned to be Cale’s first birthday portraits, but they turned out to be his 13th-month portraits instead. That just gave him more practice in walking. This boy is the epitome of the phrase 100% boy. He never stopped moving and was into everything he could get his hands on. And so full a wonderful facial expressions and charm that the ladies will have to look out for this one. Happy late Birthday Cale!

Benjamin and Evan were great little boys to work with, but leave it to a girl to show them up. Meet Phoebe. She is a little doll, who was so peaceful through out her session. She even gave us some big smiles here and there. And with a girl, I was able to use some new girlie-girl props that I’ve been anxious to put to use. And kudos to Phoebe’s grandmother for making the two cocoons we used in the shoot.

Meet the adorable Evan. As I mentioned in the previous post, Evan was another wonderful baby to work with. He just snoozed away as I moved him from on pose to the next. And he was so wonderfully soft & squishy. Enough chatter, lets get to his portraits!

Pucker up ladies. You know you want to kiss those lips!

Found this great little accent piece the other day and thought it would be perfect for a sweet sleepy baby.

Next up is a sweet baby girl, Phoebe, who couldn’t let the last two boys show her up. She has some super cute portraits, so stay tuned.

Working with newborns is not always easy. But every once in a while, there comes along a baby that proves it can be easy. Benjamin is one of those kids. He was so laid back and easy to work with that I just didn’t want to stop. And he was such a little snuggle-bug too. As I would move him from pose to pose, he would just bury his head and curl into a little ball. I was proud of him, and I know his mom and dad are beyond proud of this little guy. Welcome to the world Ben!

And finally, since kick-off to Football Time in Tennessee is only 32 days away, here is a salute to the Vols!
Not only was he great to work with, he is pretty darn cute too. Thanks for stopping by. Check back in a few days to meet Baby Evan. He must have taken lessons on newborn modeling from Benjamin, as he was equally wonderful to work with. Looking forward to sharing his portraits with you!

Hard to believe, but another year has gone by already. Tayten turned 5 a few months back and little Kinsley just celebrated her second. I’ve done portraits of both since they were newborns and have enjoyed watching them grow. Tayten has always been great in front of the camera and enjoys the spotlight. Kinsley, not so much. I’m always amazed how different siblings can be sometimes. We outlasted the rain and some tears in the end and came away with some cute portraits. Enjoy…
